“STAR DUST”

The concert series “Mid-Day Music at Melville” presented and performed by pianist and singer Brad Halls continues with its 4th season of concerts with the next performance on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Melville United Church in Fergus beginning at 12 noon and continuing until about 1 p.m.

Inspired by the classic Hoagy Carmichael song “Star Dust”, the next concert includes great standards from popular composers and lyricists including James Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn, Victor Young, Jerome Kern, Sammy Fain and others.  Inspired by the twinkling stars in the heavens, their songs include “When You Wish Upon a Star”, “Lost in the Stars”, “You Are My Lucky Star”, “Stars Fell on Alabama” and many more.

While there is no admission charge to any of these performances, a voluntary donation to Melville United Church to help keep the lights on and the piano tuned is always appreciated.

This coming Wednesday will be your last opportunity to vote for your “Three Favourite Songs”, and we will be finishing off our exciting vote-count to determine which 12 to 15 songs of the hundreds of songs that have been nominated will make the list for the final performance of this season on Wednesday, May 6.  On that day, I am delighted to say I will be joined by the marvelous vocalist Christina Stelmacovich, who was one of my special guests at one of our Christmas presentations this past December.  Christina is a singer with the famous Elora Singers, and is also the Manager of both the Elora Singers and the annual Elora Festival.  This “finale” to our 4th season of Mid-Day Music at Melville will be one you will not want to miss.
