“SONGS OF LOVE LOST” – PART 1
The concert series “Mid-Day Music at Melville” presented and performed by pianist and singer Brad Halls continues with its 4th season of concerts with the next performance on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Melville United Church in Fergus beginning at 12 noon and continuing until about 1 p.m.
As Valentine’s Day falls in the middle of February, Brad will be dedicating the entire month to songs concerned with both “Love Lost” and “Love Found”. The vast majority of great songs are essentially about the great emotion of love, either love lost or love found. This coming Wednesday, Brad will be present the first of two weeks of music dedicated to the “Songs of Love Lost”. Some of the greatest songwriters have turned to the topic, from George and Ira Gershwin, Arthur Schwarts, James Van Heusen, Cy Coleman and many others. Featured songs will include “But Not for Me”, “When Your Lover Has Gone”, “My Old Flame”, “Maybe You’ll Be There”, “You Don’t Know Me” and several more.
While there is no admission charge to any of these performances, a voluntary donation to Melville United Church to help keep the lights on and the piano tuned is always appreciated.
