Mid-Day Music at Melville

November 5 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Presented and performed by pianist and singer

BRAD HALLS

The concert series “Mid-Day Music at Melville” presented and performed by pianist and singer Brad Halls continues with its 4th season of concerts with the next performance on Wednesday, November 5 at Melville United Church in Fergus beginning at 12 noon and continuing until about 1 p.m.

For this 4th season of concerts, Brad has adopted the theme of “Songwriters’ Inspirations”, with a variety of themes exploring some of the great popular music of the past hundred years and beyond

The upcoming concerts on November 5 and November 12 bookend the celebration of Remembrance Day and on November 5, Brad will feature The Songs of World War I, and will mark that turbulent period with songs of the era – both patriotic songs speaking directly to the wartime experience and popular songs of the era.  Come and enjoy classic songs such as It’s a Long Long Way to Tipperary, Roses of Picardy, Keep the Home Fires Burning, For Me and My Gal, Poor Butterfly, How Ya Gonna Keep ‘Em Down on the Farm, and many more from composers from Irving Berlin to Richard Whiting and Jerome Kern and more.

The following week, on November 12, our focus will shift to The Songs of World War II, with more information to come in a week’s time.

While there is no admission charge to any of these performances, a voluntary donation to Melville United Church to help keep the lights on and the piano tuned is always appreciated.

For more information on this series or to join our e-mail list, contact Brad at 519-400-1022 or by e-mail at brad.halls@wightman.ca.
